All employees who plan to be on-site are required to view a training video titled “Returning to Campus." Even if you will continue to work remotely, but may need to come to campus occasionally, you must complete this training. To access the video, go to the UC Learning Center website and search by title using the Find a Course function.
If you are planning to come to campus, you must submit the On-Site Activity Request Form, and must receive approval on your request before you arrive on campus. This helps us avoid exceeding the max capacity recommended to meet physical distancing safety guidelines. To allow time for approval, please submit this form at least one business day before you plan to arrive.
All employees returning to on-site work must be activated in the app the week before they are scheduled to return to campus. If you are not receiving daily symptom check emails, please email your personnel contact to register you in the system. Once an employee is activated, he or she will receive an email directly from the EEC explaining how to access the symptom check app.
Physical distancing guidelines to stay at least 6 feet from other people remain in place on campus. Physical distance signs, decals and floor graphics will be installed in stages around campus in lobbies and high-traffic areas (stage 1 includes 40 research buildings). Building and department managers can print additional signs as needed from the EH&S website.
For recommendations on cleaning and disinfecting general workspaces, see EH&S's guidance document, Cleaning Procedures for General Environments in Response to COVID-19 (PDF).
In compliance with the California Department of Public Health, all individuals on UCI-controlled property are required to wear face coverings to reduce possible exposure and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the UCI community. Please read UCI’s Executive Directive for details, including permitted exceptions. Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) is offering face coverings to campus employees.
It is impossible for us to clean every single surface that you may touch. The best way to keep yourself safe is to wash your hands before you touch your face.
The traffic flow diagrams are available in the password-protected resources section.
Try to stay only in your office or the approved area. If you need to enter other parts of the School please specify that on your On-Site Activity Request Form.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When there is a positive COVID-19 case on site, there is a disinfecting process that will need to occur. This process may take up to a day depending largely on the size of the exposure. Some areas of the school may be shut down in order to disinfect. This is why it is very important that you fill out the On-Site Activity Request Form and limit your movement on site.
